Caterham Seven

The middle of winter may seem an odd time to review what is definitely a summer car, but the Caterham Seven, by its longevity, is an all-rounder.  Now is the time to order for a springtime delivery.  The last line of this review by Editor Malcolm Ginsberg from the December Business Travel News sums it up.  Malcolm was Press Officer at Lotus, then World Motor Racing Champions, when the Lotus 7 became the Caterham Seven.

Cruising contacts

Business Travel News has prepared a list of cruise operators selling in the UK, both river and deep sea.  For the most part if you want to join a cruise at this time of the year a flight is involved although Cunard, Fred Olsen, P&O and Saga do offer limited departures, mainly from Southampton.  They will be joined by Ambassador out of Tilbury on 6 April, the maiden voyage to Hamburg for this new British line.

Gatwick News

Wizz Air, the Hungarian airline listed on the London Stock Exchange, is coming into Gatwick in a big way for summer 2022 with 14 new destinations.

These include Bari, Catania, Chania, Faro, Funchal, Larnaca, Milan, Mykonos, Naples, Palma, Podgorica, Rome, Tel Aviv & Vienna.  Wizz Air operates a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.  With most destinations services are limited, Wizz Air preferring a spread of routes rather than the frequency offered by others. It operates out of the South Terminal.

Other news from Gatwick is a partnership, later in the year, with Gridserve for the first electric forecourt at a British airport.  It is the net zero carbon equivalent of a petrol station.  The airport, in conjunction with Network Rail, has also announced a major redevelopment of Gatwick Station including more escalators, lifts and stairs, plus a new image.
